Elton John has Proven his Hits on Stage again
Elton John, over time, has proven to be one of the most important musicians of his time. His "time" covers several decades, and his legion of fans, covering several generations. John has appeared in more than 30 years, and this summer's tour is sure to attract millions of followers around the United States.
Early Life
Elton John was born Reginald Kenneth Dwight in England in 1947, and his childhood was shaped mostly women in their lives. His father, Stanley Dwight was an RAF Squadron Leader, which meant that he rarely of his son, his military obligation to keep him on tour for years.
John proved to be something of a prodigy who at age four, he was able to play piano melodies by ear after hearing them, either by radio or record player. He continued to develop his love for music, and he won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music when he was 11
John studied at the Academy for six years, but left before graduating, because he felt he was ready to concentrate on professional music career. John was playing the part of bands as a student, and it was during this time that his professional attitude and style were shaped in such a way that they serve him throughout his career.
Early Career
John's first band was formed when he was 13, and was called the Corvette. Corvettes finally changed its name to Bluesology, which has had some success as a backup group for such R & B artists like the Isley Brothers and Patti LaBelle. This exposure has led to the signing Bluesology to serve as a supporting band of Long John Baldry, and tour and play small concerts in England during this period.
John soon frustrated by the control exercised over Bluesology Baldry greedy and left the band shortly thereafter. Even if there have been setbacks, such as John auditioned for roles as a singer of King Crimson and Gentle Giant, without being hired, this part of his life has led to a partnership that exists today.
Career Success
John once again failed an audition with Liberty Records, but he left the hearing, he received a group of words without music was written by Bernie Taupin, who also tried to play a role with Liberty Records. John wrote the music to support words, and the two began to correspond. John and Taupin met six months later, and it was then that John has changed its name to what it is today. After several years of writing music together, the partners intend to meet the 1970, it was a decade that witnessed an unprecedented level of success in history.
Taupin and John began releasing singles with moderate success, and formed a band that would lead to John's number one debut album, Honky Chateau, 1972. The album contains songs such as "Rocket Man" and "Honky Cat", and spent five weeks at number one.
The following year, John started his own label, Rocket Records, and his streak of success has been incredible. His next nine albums of all rose to the top of U.S. charts, and his 31 shots from the first has sold hundreds of millions of copies worldwide.
Awards / Honors
John is revered by millions of people, both within the music industry and the general public. It has been recognized in several respects. John has won five Grammy Awards, although only the "tip of the iceberg" in terms of recognition. In 1995, John won an Oscar for Best Music, Song for "Can you feel the love tonight" in The Lion King. He won a Golden Globe this year for Best Original Song - Film for the same score. In 1996 he was appointed Commander of the British Empire (CBE), and in 1998 was knighted by Queen Elizabeth for his contribution to music and fundraising for AIDS charities. Finally, in 2000, John won a Tony Award for Best Original Score for his work with Aida. John also was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994.
