Good Modern Jazz Alto Saxophonists? Suggestions?
Well, recently Ive been looking for new ppl.
I play alto and Ive been looking to hear something more modern.
I listen to most so far:

You're listening to all the right people, though, so keep it up. And of course, don't forget to listen to the tenor players too, or trumpet players or pianists or guitarists or drummers for that matter. Charlie Parker worked out of a violin exercise book, and Coltrane worked out of a harp book. Listening to other people on your instrument helps a lot, but incorporating other instruments might help you find your own unique style.
P.S. I also think that to say that no one is more modern than Benny Carter or Paul Desmond is totally false, and to call Paul Desmond the Godfather of Smooth Jazz is a great disservice to the man. Just because he had an iconic, soft tone, that shouldn't associate with him with a genre of music that emphasizes middle-of-the-road, factory-style productions and formulas. I had to clear that up, it was rubbing wrong on my nerves.
